Safer paints consider the use and release of hazardous chemicals at any stage in the product’s life cycle.1 The paints listed below are best in class for interior latex paints. These paints are:

 

  • free of a specific class of chemicals, alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs), which can disrupt the hormone system
  • low in volatile organic compound (VOC) content
  • low in VOC emissions

A wide variety of safer paints are now widely available to meet any cost and performance requirements!
