Junious Whitaker IV is a recent graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC. He received
a B.A. in History with a minor in African Studies. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Incorporated, which is a national service fraternity. Junious was the Historian for the
Beta Chapter of this organization at Howard.
Junious volunteers in the community in several capacities, especially with educating others on
Black History. He utilizes positive historical concepts to lift self-esteem in his volunteer efforts
with youth. He enjoys traveling around the world to study various cultures and analyzing
biographies and documentaries. He will be aiding Spec Matters in creating literary outlets to
educate people on healthier and sustainable initiatives in making buildings and homes safer.
Junious is beginning graduate school at Howard this fall. He plans to obtain his Ph.D. in history
and pursue a career in academia. His goal is to focus his research on improving underserved
populations through education and political policy involvement.
