FloorScore

DID YOU KNOW:

FloorScore is the most rigid IAQ (indoor air quality) certification for hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayments.2

FloorScore assures that products are independently tested for the 35 VOCs (volatile organic compounds) under the voluntary standard2 CA Section 01350.6

What is FloorScore?

FloorScore was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in collaboration with the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a third-party testing and certification organization.1

The organization certifies products including cementitious, ceramic, cork, vinyl composite tile, vinyl sheet flooring, flooring adhesives and more.2 A list of certifiable products can be found here.

Limiting Chemicals

  • VOCs – FloorScore products are specifically tested for VOC compounds composed of carbon, known to emit gases with both short-term and long-term health effects. CA Section 01350 tests for 35 compounds, including formaldehyde.
  • Chemicals – FloorScore also meets Chronic Reference Exposure Levels for 78 chemicals under the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.4
